Balance Cookie policy
This page covers the balance-due.com website. Nothing optional is set until you choose to allow it, and you can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work at all. Others are used to measure how a site is used or to tell whether an advert led to a visit. This site also uses the browser's local storage for two things: remembering the cookie choice you made, so you are not asked on every page, and keeping a chat conversation open as you move between pages once you have started one.
How we ask
The first time you visit, a banner offers three choices: accept all, reject all, or manage preferences, which lets you turn each category on or off separately. Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you choose. Analytics and advertising cookies are not set unless you allow them, and if you reject them nothing from those categories is loaded.
Your choice is stored for twelve months, after which we ask again. If this policy changes in a way that matters, we ask again sooner.

Google's cookies are set by Google LLC and are governed by Google's own privacy policy as well as this one. We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google's tags are told which categories you allowed and behave accordingly.
The chat widget is Team Connect, another DadLink Technologies product, so what it stores stays with the same company that runs this site and is never used for advertising.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It opens the same preferences panel as the banner, with your current choices shown, and saves the moment you press save. You can also clear cookies and site data for balance-due.com in your browser, which removes your stored choice and brings the banner back.
Rejecting all cookies does not affect anything on this site. Every page, the contact form and the pricing information work exactly the same.
The Balance Due app
This policy covers the balance-due.com website only. The Balance Due app runs inside the Shopify admin, and the payment page your customers see runs under the app's own domain. Both are covered by the privacy notice, which explains what the app stores and why.
